Lost Coast Storm Runner
Saturday, March 22, 2026
Registration: Online or 10 AM
Start Time: 11 AM
Location: Shelter Cove, CA
Start: Surf Point Coffee House • Finish: Gyppo Ale Mill
Get ready to run the wild edge of the Lost Coast. The Lost Coast Storm Runner is a coastal Fun Run (2.3 miles), 5K, and 10K that celebrates everything we love about March in Shelter Cove—big views, cool air, and the kind of weather that keeps things interesting.
Formerly the Shamrock Shuffle, last year’s race delivered sideways rain, serious wind, and unforgettable energy—so this year we’re leaning in. It might be calm and beautiful… or it might be a full coastal challenge. Either way, it’s always an experience.
Whether you’re racing for time, jogging with friends, or walking with family, this is a community-first event for all levels.
What to Expect
Fun Run (2.3 miles), 5K, and 10K options
A scenic coastal route with real Lost Coast conditions
All paces welcome — run, jog, or walk
Costumes encouraged
Coffee to start at Surf Point
Post-race celebration + award ceremony at Gyppo Ale Mill
Bring your layers, your best attitude, and your favorite people—then finish strong with a well-earned celebration at Gyppo.
Come run wild on the Lost Coast.

Seaside Soapbox Derby
Community Roll Call
October 2026 (Date TBD)
Location: Shelter Cove, CA
Ready… set… build. The Lost Coast Tourism Association is laying the foundation for a Seaside Soapbox Derby — a community-driven, coast-style race event we hope to bring to Shelter Cove this October.
This is the early planning stage, and we’re doing it the best way possible: with the community. If you’ve ever wanted to build a soapbox car, help organize a fun local event, volunteer, sponsor, or bring your creativity to something unforgettable, this is your moment.
Whether you’re a builder, a promoter, a problem-solver, or someone who just loves a good spectacle, we want to hear from you. Let’s make something that feels uniquely Lost Coast: playful, collaborative, and full of local pride.
What to Expect (If We Get the Community On Board)
A gravity-powered soapbox derby course in Shelter Cove
All ages welcome — fun, friendly competition
Creative builds + themed cars encouraged
Volunteer and sponsor opportunities
A community event that brings locals and visitors together
This event will only happen if we build it together — and we’re excited to see who’s in.
